My favourite restaurants in county Clare

As most of you will know by now, I LOVE food. I am constantly eating and I really enjoy going out for meals in restaurants. I have probably eaten in most restaurants in county Clare at this stage!

Here are a few of my favourite restaurants that I love to eat in 😍

1. Tides Bistro @ The Bellbridge House Hotel

I have to say that without a doubt, this has to be my number one favourite. The bellbridge house hotel is just a 3 minute drive from my house and I can often be seen here eating a big feed or even sitting out the front having a drink! The bellbridge is such a nice homely hotel and the fire in the bar makes it even more relaxing.

I usually get the same meal each time I visit, I’m not very adventurous with my food so I just find something that I like and stick to it! For the starter I pick the chicken and mushroom vol-au-vent and then for the main course I go for the chicken curry. The portion sizes are very generous and I’d say I have never managed to finish the full meal.

At the back of the restaurant, there is another small room which myself and my friends often eat in. It’s a private room which is perfect for a birthday party or a group. I took part in dine in the dark a couple of months ago and we had a brilliant night with plenty of laughs!

Every time you visit the bellbridge house hotel, you are guaranteed amazing food and all the staff are so nice.

2. Tasty Station Lahinch

I love this place. I ate here recently on a Sunday evening with my friends. We were absolutely starving after driving around sightseeing for the day. There was such a great selection of food on the menu, the hardest part what trying to decide what to get!

I ordered chicken, gravy, and mashed potato. It was delicious. Tasty station even serve cocktails so that’s another good reason to visit! They have skewered chicken in a peanut sauce which is just the best 👌🏾 The restaurant is located in the beautiful town of Lahinch, which is a very well known surfing spot with a lovely beach.

3. Randaddys Lahinch

Randaddys restaurant is also located in Lahinch. It’s in the middle of the prom on Lahinch beach, directly across the road from the beach. I have eaten in here a couple of times and the food was always perfect. My favourite food in here is the barbecue pizza 😍

The staff are very friendly and the owner, a guy named Randy, has travelled the world getting tips and cooking ideas for his restaurant. He often uploads videos to Facebook from all different countries and my favourite video was where he showed us how to make fried rice (which I really really love) Follow this lol if you would like to know how to make your own Authentic Fried Rice.

Randaddys restaurant has an amazing view of the sea, the whole promenade is visible from the restaurant. There’s even benches outside so that you can enjoy the fine weather and your meal at the same time! Make sure to check out this place, great menu selection, you can’t go wrong! Cannot wait to visit again to try out the fried rice for myself 😍

4. The Armada Hotel

The Armada Hotel is located in Spanish point, just across the bay from where I live. The food in the Armada is always so nice and they have a great cocktail menu too. My favourite dish in the Armada in the fish and chips. It’s a very classic meal but it’s also one of my favourites.

The brunch menu in Johnny Burkes bar has a great selection and not to even mention the desserts! 😍 I would definitely recommend the Armada in Spanish point, whether you are looking for a nice meal or a few drinks, you’re sure to find what you want in here!

5. Cogans Bar & Restaurant

Cogans bar and restaurant is located along the wild Atlantic way, in Miltown Malbay. Cogans is my favourite place to go for breakfast, especially on a Sunday morning when I was out the night before. It’s very spacious and all the staff are lovely. One of the chefs, Aisling, always cooks the perfect meal, I could never fault anything I’ve ever eaten in here. The fish and chips are my favourite 😍 The chips are served in small metal buckets, which looks brilliant! 10/10 definitely recommend.

Homemade chicken fried rice

I went out last night and the one thing I love after being out is Chinese. My local Chinese was closed this morning and I was starving! I had no other choice but to make my own, and I will definitely be making it again, it’s simple and easy to make. It tasted even better than real Chinese.

So I started off by boiling some basmati rice for roughly 10 minutes in a saucepan. I then let the rice cool down and in the mean time i started to cut up the chicken.

I had two breasts of chicken which I diced up into small chunks. I then used this fry light spray oil which is a lot healthier than regular cooking oil.

I cooked the chicken in the frying pan until it went a light brown colour. While that was cooking, I defrosted and cooked sweet corn and peas to add in with the chicken and rice.

When the peas, sweet corn, and chicken were all cooked, I put all the ingredients back into the frying pan for 5 minutes to mix it all up. I added in two eggs and mixed it all up until the eggs were cooked. I then poured in some soy sauce just for a bit of colour and to add to the flavour.

Ingredients used:

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • Basmati rice
  • Soy sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • Frozen peas
  • Frozen sweet corn
